Wytham Woods

I have been going to Wytham Woods near Oxford for years and in all seasons. It has the magic of ancient woodland now so rare in the UK with oak trees that have survived for hundreds of years. This photograph is one of a set taken in both Wytham and Finland in which I have used the flexibility of the latest software to create pools of light where they did not exist at the time. This is hidden from the cursory viewer as there is no apparent reason why the light should or should not be where it falls. The emergance of light in unexpected places does not alter the overall veracity of the image, if that has any true importance, but allows the photograph to reflect the shifting patterns and mystery of the woods themselves as one walks the paths.
